How to build an AFM

This has been the focus of my life for the past few years: the design and realization of a low temperature, high field, Atomic Force Microscope. I've been involved with every phase of this instrument, from the CAD to the machine shop to the implementation. (What's an AFM you ask? Here's a little introduction describing how they work.)

The ULT-SPM

The ULT-SPM (Ultra Low Temperature Scanning Probe Microscope) was my thesis project.
